Simple, easy to use, paid version is #1
If you need a tuner to either generate a particular tone or detect what tone is being made, after trying and buying several tuners I settled in this as the best. By far. Its easy to switch into detect or generation modes, and its dead easy to set the base frequency of A4.
Some tuners are preset to guitar or other instrument tones. Ok...if you are learning an instrument and you dont know the notes of your open strings, you have bigger problems. Some have annoying ads, some have slow & painful interfaces, some have bad and/or slow displays, some only generate tones like a pitch pipe instead of detecting them, and many cant or cant easily set the base frequency. I dont know why its so hard to make the basics work, but this is the first Ive found that does.
This one has to be paid to get a few features like sensitivity which helps smooth out the dynamics on my cello, I have not seen this feature elsewhere. (They show up under settings, but it asks you to upgrade, which is better than ads, you can just not go into settings.) But this free version is actually still better and more usable than any other Ive found.
